All of us have dreams and we set goals to achieve them. Goal setting is easy. It is a valuable tool which helps maximize our learning. With clear goals in mind, we will find ourselves working harder to attain them.

1. Write down what you want to achieve. At this point, do not bother whether you can achieve the goals. It is more crucial to let your ideas flow.

2. Transfer or put your goals/ideas back into 3 relevant categories.

3. Link your goals/ideas back to your dreams or original purpose and focus on what you want to do within the next few weeks or months.

4. List down the tasks/activities that may be required to achieve your goals.

5. For a start, set small goals that are easier to achieve. Make adjustments to the goal where necessary.

6. Review and reflect upon the goals set daily and weekly.

1. Study in a quiet and comfortable place with enough lighting. Make sure it is free of things that may distract you, such as the television, toys or comic books.

2. Make a list of things you need to do or study each day. Prioritize and do the most important ones first. In addition, you can draw up a weekly timetable and keep to it. Revise what you did in class that day daily.

3. Summarize and draw an outcome of each topic. Key points, flow charts and diagrams may help you remember your notes more easily. Divide your work into parts and work it out bit by bit.

4. Understand your notes don’t just memorize everything. Ask your friends or teachers for help if there are things you are unsure of.

5. Take a small break when you are tired. Exercise, listen to music, watch your favourite cartoon or go out and have some fun.

6. You learn better when you are fresh and alert, so eat and sleep. Don’t stay up let or skip meals just to make time for study. Your body needs proper care.

7. Be consistent in your efforts. Start preparing early for tests and exams so you don’t be panic at the last minute. Have confidence in yourself. Do your best and don’t be upset even if you don’t be the top of the class.
